July 28 - Museum Store Training - This will involve training on the registers and provide lunch coverage. 

August 25 - Office Administrative Assistance - This is for anyone interested in helping out at the administrative office with tasks such as festival fulfilment, mailing (envelop stuffing and addressing), supplies inventory, and generally supporting the office staff with daily administrative tasks and needs. The training will include a tour of the office focused on where people and things are located and how to use some of the relevant appliances. This will be held at the office.

Lunch Coverage for the Frontline. Must be Disaster Trained and Register training is preferred.

The Birthplace of Country Music is hosting a qualifying round for Tennessee Songwriters Week in 2026. Event Information HERE

We will need volunteers to serve as ushers, greenroom attendants, and assist backstage as needed.

4:00 – 10:00pm

Event from 6:00-8:00

This training session is a masterclass of the museum's content that will prepare you to confidently lead tours as a docent.

To become a docent, you must attend this class, complete the follow-up homework and review sessions, and pass a final certification test that includes a mock tour. Volunteers who are not interested in becoming a docent but want to attend this class just to learn more about the museum's content are also welcome. There are only 15 spots available, and priority will be given to those with an interest in leading tours. 

Assist instructors with setting up the room, oversee check-in and checkout of students, and assist with the non-instrument instruction-related needs of instructors, students, or parents. 

This is for Interns to record their hours.

This Zoom meeting for Docents is held on the first Monday of every month at 4:15. We will share "tour stories" of the good, the bad, and the interesting things that happened during tours in the previous month, plan ahead for the next month's tours, and, time permitting, engage in lively discussion about a content-related topic!

Those interested in assisting with tours who have not completed Docent Training, are encouraged to attend. The content of this meeting is relevant to anyone who wants to help with tour groups in the museum! :)

Museum Story Time recurring on the first Friday of each month. 

We provide monthly after-school programs for Meadowview Elementary. Each month is a different activity based on the museum's content.

PLEASE NOTE: This event take place at the Meadowview Elementary School NOT AT THE MUSEUM. If you would like to carpool with staff, meet at the museum by 2:15. If you will meet us at the school, please arrive by 2:45. 

Assisting the Songwriter Circle leader with anything they may need during their monthly Jam sessions. 

Help musicians load/unload, amps, instrument stands, etc. 

Place chairs around table.

Set out ice water and cups.

The 1927 Concert Series is an intimate concert experience set in the “acoustically perfect” performance theater at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum. It’s more than a night of music, it’s a very personal event with some of the most renowned roots music artists performing today. Guests are asked to arrive promptly at 6 p.m. to enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres and an open bar before the show (ages 21+ with valid ID),  food and drinks included with ticket. Music begins at 7 p.m.

Assisting the ETNBA (East TN Bluegrass Association) with anything they may need during their monthly Jam sessions. 

Shadowing, or learning by observation, is one of the best ways to train for a new role and become comfortable within the museum. Sign up for this shift when you intend to be in the museum in a learning capacity.  

Please email the Volunteer Coordinator after signing up for this flexible shift with the exact date and timeframe that you intend to shadow. Specific hours must be entered manually in order for you to receive proper credit for your time. Learning is working!
