Tour Assistants are Gallery Assistants that are specifically focused on a group's tour experience. They will help the Docent navigate large groups through the museum and answer the less content-focused questions (such as," where is the bathroom?") so the docent can focus on engaging the group with the museum's content. They will also start and stop the orientation film in the Performance Theater, and assist with a variety of fun programs that tour groups can choose from when they sign up.
This training will cover how to prepare for and clean up after a tour, how to operate the orientation film in the Performance Theater, and how to prepare for, execute, and clean up after the various tour activites that a group might sign up for. Tour activites may include Scavenger Hunts, Banjo Bingo, Instrument Petting Zoo, History of Listening, Science of Sound, Square Dances, and more!
